Medicare Initial Enrollment Period (IEP)
You can first sign up for Part A and/or Part B during the
7 month time period
that begins 3 months before you turn 65 and ends 3 months after.

If you are still working and elected not to take Medicare, you may qualify for a Special Enrolment Period (SEP) to enroll in Medicare at anytime- Penalty free.
Parts A + B
Generally, people are entitled to Part A at no cost as long as you or your spouse has worked 40 quarters.
Part B has a base premium of $185.00/month. The cost could be higher based on your household income. To determine your Part B costs, see chart below:
